We had a wonderful day here celebrating World Book Day with lots of colourful and imaginative outfits. The children all got a chance to walk the red carpet in style in their fabulous costumes.
We completed our first Dreamspace maker challenge. We worked in teams to plan, design and problem solve as we designed working windmills. These skills will help us to code our Microbits in the near future.
Thank you to Louise Lawlor from Newbridge Library for helping us out!
We are very busy with our spring clean today. The children and staff made a fabulous job of sweeping away leaves and using their litter pickers to fill the bins. Well done everyone!
Our fantastic Junior Infants were able to bring home their beautiful narcissus plants which were in full bloom. The children had planted the bulbs themselves under the guidance of Ms Gomez and Ms Bailey. Well done everyone!
Some Children from 6th Class kindly obliged Ms Bailey and helped tp plant apple trees in our outdoor classroom. They dug the soil and planted the trees. We llok forward to the beautiful blooms and fruit from the trees in the years to come.
Dave from Groovy Hands came into St Catherine of Siena NS today to give all the children a drumming workshop. The school was hopping to the sounds of fantastic drumbeats all day and the children had so much fun!!
Our 6th Class went on a very exciting field trip to Sandycove with a marine zoologist and environmental scientist to observe the flora and fauna and explore the sea shore. The weather was fabulous and the children had a fantastic time with some fascinating discoveries along the way! We would sincerely like to thank Kildare County Council, Louise Lawlor and all involved in making this a very fun and educational trip for the children.
